Students, professors and women rights organisations have been protesting, demanding his arrest, after some students accused him of sexual harassment.

Hindu Raksha Dal has claimed responsibility for the violence in Jawaharlal Nehru University. "JNU is a hotbed of anti-national activities, we can't tolerate this.
